The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded, Melbourne based organisation, currently undergoing an exciting period of growth and change. With a new ERP system recently in place, this is an opportunity to join a collaborative commercial finance team, where you can really have an impact.
  
You’ll use your modelling, analysis and PowerBI visualisation skills to support enhanced reporting. The role will also lead on continuous improvements and driving automation, via the use of PowerBI and data analytics tools.
  
The role will commence as an initial 6-month fixed term, though there is a strong likelihood of extension. Candidates with a notice period of two weeks or less are very welcome to apply.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, key responsibilities will include:

• Financial modelling
• Developing Excel and Power BI templates
• Extracting data from systems, transforming and uploading to create dashboards and visuals
• Providing insightful analysis on key financial and non-financial data
• Driving continuous improvements and automation in PowerBI; evolving and uplifting dashboards

The Expertise

Please apply for this position if you meet most of the following criteria:

• Ideally you have a finance background (CPA, CA or degree); possibly you have an IT background and have since worked in Finance teams. (You must know your way around a P&L)
• Additional qualifications in data analytics very highly regarded
• Advanced MS Excel and modelling skills, including PowerQuery
• Experience working with large datasets/databases
• Knowledge of building dashboards in PowerBI
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement. We don’t need a report-puller, but someone who can effect meaningful change
• Very strong communication skills, willingness to show initiative to contribute to a changing, high performing team environment
