The Opportunity
This is a lucrative and critically strategic Financial Controller, a true 2IC role to the CFO of a rapidly growing Australia business expanding their operational footprint through demand and first class service. 

The opportunity has come about as the business is looking to build stronger capability and visibility across their finance team with a particular focus on compliance, month-end, process automation and optimising team structure. 

The Financial Controller role is supported by 4 direct reports and approximately 10 indirect reports with the mandate to eventually bring value creation to reporting and compliance processes. You will have the authority to make changes where you see fit to improve efficiencies and build a stronger relationship with the operations of the business, driving the strategic decision making and direction of the business. 

The Challenge
Key contributions of the role include: 

• Strengthening financial and management reporting, reducing month-end reporting timeframes and driving value creation in finance
• Work towards best in class compliance reporting to deliver to audit standards and a consolidated group structure
• Strategically review and optimise finance team structure with the support of the CFO
• Strengthening cashflow management to support sustainable operational growth initiatives and maintaining a strong funding position
• Driving broader standardisation of finance processes, controls and accounting policies across the group, including stronger review disciplines
• Supporting the finance team through engaging and motivating leadership

The Expertise
To be considered for this opportunity it is likely you will possess the following:

• The role will suit an experienced, strategic and visible Financial Controller with strong knowledge of best practice reporting, treasury and funding experience, particularly managing debt facilities, and experience across complex, multi-entity environments and group consolidations.
• High-growth, scale-up experience along with previous Big 4 experience would be highly regarded
• You must be able to demonstrate the ability and track-record of driving process improvement initiatives 
• An initial career in large corporate environments with a pivot to high growth medium sized businesses in a regulated environment will be looked upon favourably
