The Opportunity

Our client is a large, well-established Australian organisation with a sophisticated tax function and a complex operating environment.
They are seeking an experienced tax professional to join the team on a contract basis, with a particular focus on supporting the business through ongoing ATO audit activity.

Working closely with the Head of Tax and senior Finance stakeholders, you’ll provide additional technical capability and capacity across ATO information requests, tax analysis, documentation and broader tax controversy matters.

This would be an excellent contract for an experienced corporate tax professional who enjoys getting into the detail, working through complex tax issues and managing competing priorities in a large corporate environment.

The Challenge

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Group Tax Manager with ongoing ATO audit and review activity
• Preparing and coordinating responses to ATO information requests
• Collating financial information, reconciliations and evidence to support ATO queries
• Liaising with internal stakeholders and external tax advisers to progress audit matters
• Supporting broader corporate tax, governance and advisory projects as required

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CA/CPA qualification and/or Masters of Tax
• Strong Australian corporate tax experience, ideally gained within Big 4, large professional services or a complex corporate environment
• Previous exposure to ATO audits, reviews, tax controversy or dispute matters will be highly regarded
• Strong technical tax knowledge and the ability to interpret complex transactions and tax positions
• Availability to commence a contract role at relatively short notice
