The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to work for a privately-owned Australian business with a rich history spanning over 50 years. The business platform they have developed has resulted in numerous long-term contracts with multi-national and domestic corporations, government bodies and member associations. Our client is looking for an experienced payroll professional to manage the end-to-end function in a stand alone role.
The Challenge
As the standalone Payroll Manager you will have accountability for managing all aspects of the national payroll function and driving key process improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Managing the end-to-end national payroll process within agreed timeframes;
- Monitoring & reporting payroll spend and maintaining strong reporting systems;
- Managing all statutory requirements such as Superannuation, Payroll Tax, PAYG and Workers Compensation;
- Establishing strong relationships with internal stakeholders, working collaboratively on new starters and terminations and ensuring all queries are responded to in a timely manner;
- Leading key projects as required by the business; and
- Executing strategic opportunities to eliminate manual tasks and activities, ensuring a continuous improvement approach.
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Experience as a Senior Payroll Officer/Payroll Manager overseeing an employee base of 200 or more;
- Experience in a stand alone payroll position will be viewed as advantageous;
- Project management experience, particularly around systems implementations and upgrades;
- Superior knowledge of payroll best-practice and current legislative requirements;
- A desire to work in a fast paced, ever changing retail environment.
