The Opportunity
Our client is a leading player in the Australian property sector, specialising in development and investment. An opportunity has become available to join the business as an Accountant, working across a broad range of responsibilities spanning project accounting to transactional duties as required. An excellent opportunity for an Accountant who enjoys variety and wants exposure across all areas of accounting. This role is 5 days on-site.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities, including reconciliations, journals, general ledger maintenance and cash flow reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, including preparation income tax returns, financial statements and supporting work papers
- Support management reporting, budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and commentary on financial performance, variances and cash flow
- Provide accounting and reporting support across a diverse portfolio of projects and business activities, partnering with key internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information
- Support transactional finance activities and broader finance initiatives, including accounts payable, process improvements, systems and reporting enhancements
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- 2-4 years’ accounting experience. You may be looking to make your first move into industry from a Big 4 or mid-tier chartered firm, or have started your career in industry as an Assistant Accountant and are now looking to take the next step.
- Experience working with property clients or relevant industry experience would be highly regarded.
- Actively working towards your CA/CPA.
- Strong initiative and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, inquisitive, and eager to make a meaningful impact.
