The Opportunity

Our client is a major infrastructure operator based in the north east of Melbourne, playing a critical role in Victoria’s economy. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team on an initial month-to-month rolling contract, with strong potential to extend or move into a permanent role.

You’ll join a close-knit team of four, supporting a high-volume invoice and payment function. This is an immediate-start opportunity, well suited to a confident AP professional who can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.

Hybrid working is on offer, with flexibility around days in office versus from home, and the rate on offer is open to negotiation depending on experience.

The Challenge

Key responsibilities will include:

• End-to-end processing of high-volume vendor invoices and payments
• Managing new vendor set-ups and maintaining vendor master data
• Supporting both capital invoice payment cycles and small business payment processing
• Reconciling AP accounts and resolving invoice and payment queries
• Working within AI-assisted invoice processing tools and payment fraud prevention systems
• Partnering with internal stakeholders across a large finance function

The Expertise

You’ll be well placed for this role if you have:

• Demonstrated experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable function
• Essential: hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Confidence working autonomously in a fast-paced environment with minimal handover
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Availability for an immediate start, or at short notice
