The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing Australian group in a broad and hands-on Bookkeeper position. Working closely with the owners and operational team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping across a growing portfolio of entities and business units.

This is a varied role suited to an experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant who enjoys working autonomously and having genuine ownership of their work. You will play a key role in strengthening the group’s finance operations, with the opportunity to clean up existing records, improve processes and establish consistent bookkeeping practices as the business continues to grow.

The Challenge 

Working closely with the business owners and senior stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:

• Reconcile bank statements, expense claims and credit card transactions, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
• Maintain accurate, well-organised and up-to-date general ledgers and other financial records
• Handle club communications and requests as they relate to invoices 
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including processing invoices and payments
• Prepare financial statements, budget and expenditure reports and analyses
• Prepare and lodge business activity statements (BAS) and GST returns
• Process payroll, maintaining compliance with payroll tax, superannuation and statutory reporting requirements
• Prepare month-end statements and reports
• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.

The Expertise 

Please consider applying if you possess the following:

• 2+ years’ experience in a Bookkeeping, Accounts All-Rounder or similar accounting role
• Strong experience across AP, AR, reconciliations and general bookkeeping
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of responsibilities
• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising directly with business owners and senior stakeholders
• Exposure to Xero (highly regarded)
