The Opportunity

This is a brilliant opportunity to become the Chief Financial Officer of an established private equity backed company that is set to grow materially over the coming years to become a market leader. This is a genuine value creation mandate: the Chief Financial Officer will operate as the commercial co-pilot to the CEO and Founders, with direct involvement in the growth strategy and ultimately the success of the next exit. You will work alongside a collegiate, high performing executive team.

The Challenge

As the Chief Financial Officer you will report to the CEO and act as a trusted partner to the Private Equity investments team.  You will be a commercial leader who shapes strategy, drives enterprise value and builds the financial engine that supports accelerated growth.
Some core priorities for the role will include:

• Partnering with the Board, Founders and executive to translate business strategy into operational plans, commercial priorities and measurable value creation
• Driving the commercial agenda including pricing, margin expansion, revenue quality and return on capital
• Leading M&A activity end to end, from origination support and due diligence through to post deal integration across processes, data, reporting and systems
• Owning working capital, treasury and funding strategy to fuel growth
• Ensuring investor grade financial reporting, technical accounting and governance
• Championing finance transformation and AI enablement to build a genuinely modern finance function
• Leading and developing a high performing, commercially minded finance team
• Setting strong financial planning and analysis disciplines that deliver sharp insights into profitability, cash flow, revenue and costs and drive decision making across the business
• Establishing a finance technology and systems roadmap

The Expertise

This opportunity is appropriate for a proven, commercially driven Chief Financial Officer with experience creating value within a private equity portfolio company. Ideally you will possess:

• A track record of leading a finance function through rapid growth and transformation, with demonstrable impact on EBITDA and enterprise value
• Deep M&A experience across due diligence, deal execution and integration, including a successful private equity exit
• Experience managing debt facilities, banking relationships and funding structures typical of a private equity ownership environment
• A history of building reporting, board packs and value creation metrics that earn the confidence of a PE investments team
• Strong commercial instincts capable of challenging the business, shaping strategy and acting as a true partner to the CEO and Founders
• Proven success uplifting finance systems, data and processes to support a scaling business, ideally including automation or AI enablement
• Demonstrated ability to attract, develop and retain high calibre finance talent and build a genuinely commercial finance culture
• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent, with strong technical accounting and governance credentials
• A character and values set suited to a dynamic, ambitious and commercially focused culture
• The presence, gravitas and communication skills to lead and influence the executive team, the Board and investors
