The Opportunity
Our client is a proudly Australian, privately owned organisation with a strong national footprint and a clear strategy for continued growth. With revenues exceeding $300m, they have built a reputation for being people-first, values-driven, and performance-focused.
This newly created Commercial Finance Manager role has been designed to lead the group’s FP&A function and provide business partnering with executives across the business. You’ll report to a manager who has succeeded in the role, so will receive support and guidance, as well as the opportunity to drive further improvements in commercial reporting across the company.
The Challenge
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the group’s budgeting and forecasting processes, including P&L and 3-way cash flow modelling using Workday
- Preparing board-level reporting packs to clearly articulate the drivers behind historical and forecast performance.
- Providing commercial insights and analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
- Building relationships with state and division managers to support business partnering and performance improvement.
- Supporting procurement strategies, cost benchmarking and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Playing a key role in business acquisitions, including due diligence and commercial evaluation
- Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting, and analytics.
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA / CPA/ CFA, you are likely Big 4 / Mid-tier trained with relevant experience and looking for your next move
- This role is also open to 1st movers from chartered firms, ideally experienced Manager level
- Experience in TS, Deals or Corporate Finance would be great to see, as you’ll need strong analytical, financial modelling and Excel capabilities
- Clear and confident communication style with experience working with senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail, with a proactive and hands-on approach
- Ideally, you have some experience with transport/logistics, or have worked on clients with a complex supply chain
