The Opportunity
This is compelling opportunity for a Head of Commercial Finance to join a PE backed industry leader in a strategic commercial finance leadership position. Functionally reporting into the CFO and operationally to the business unit EGM the purpose of the position is to support the EGM to drive the strategy and performance of the division.
The Challenge
A highly visible commercial finance executive level position the Commercial Finance Manager (Head of Commercial Finance equivalent) will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the division and driving financial performance. The role will be challenging and exciting as you oversee the delivery of complex commercial initiatives and oversee performance improvement matters.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will include:
- Executive level stakeholder management
- Partner the EGM to lead and deliver strategic initiatives
- Providing business case and commercial analysis to support new business initiatives
- Providing commercial decision making support and governance to the broader business
- M&A initiatives and organic growth projects including pre and post acquisition analysis, due diligence and modelling
- Provide accurate financial information and commercial support for major projects
- Accurately complete month end reporting and all other required financial reporting including accruals and EBITA adjustments
- Prepare the BU annual budget, short range forecasts and analysis packs
- Developing initiatives to improve the productivity and profitability of the BU
- Deliver process improvement and strategic cost initiatives
- Complete commercial reviews of contracts and tenders for the assigned category
- Act as a trusted commercial advisor to the business unit
The Expertise

- CA/CPA qualified you are a top tier finance executive with distinguished commercial finance experience across retail/wholesale/distribution/FMCG/manufacturing environments with complex supply chains
- Superior executive level business partnering and stakeholder management skills
- A strategic mindset with a flair for delivering commercial value and driving performance improvement
- A dynamic approach, that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate at the executive level but also be hands on
- Experiencing partnering ideally both supply chain and sales and marketing teams. Outstanding talent with experience only supporting supply chain functions will still be considered
- This is a Head of level commercial finance leadership role. Career progression path could naturally be into an EGM role
- Previous M&A experience will be looked upon favourably
