The Opportunity
This newly created position is charged with partnering closely with the General Manager to influence commercial strategy and drive business performance. This is a high impact role where you’ll help shape key commercial decisions, identify opportunities for profitable growth, and provide the financial insight that supports strategic investment and transformation initiatives.
The Challenge
Working across pricing, commercial analysis, cost optimisation and capital projects, you’ll play a pivotal role in improving performance and helping the freight forwarding business unit achieve its long term growth objectives.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will include:
- Executive level stakeholder management
- Act as the key partner the GM shaping strategic and operational decisions through clear insights, thoughtful challenge, and actionable recommendation
- Lead pricing strategy development to drive margin optimisation while maintaining competitiveness and delivering strong customer value
- Provide senior commercial leadership across contract negotiations, renewals, and major tender activities to support optimal business outcomes
- Drive rigorous commercial evaluation of capital investment proposals, including business case development, ROI analysis, and post-investment performance review
- Enable successful transformation outcomes by leading financial modelling and benefits tracking across major change initiatives
- Providing commercial decision-making support and governance to the broader business
- Developing initiatives to improve the productivity and profitability of the BU
- Deliver process improvement and strategic cost initiatives
- Act as a trusted commercial advisor to the business unit
- Lead, mentor and develop a small team

- A dynamic approach, that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate at the executive level but also be hands on
- Our client is rapidly expanding its freight forwarding business. Unfortunately top tier logistics commercial finance leaders with limited freight forwarding experience will not be considered
