The Opportunity

Our client is an industry leader and a top ASX 50 organisation with a Melbourne head office. Growing and highly profitable, they have a reputation for being at the forefront of their respective industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial finance professional who wants to be intimately involved in all commercial aspects of this key business unit and work closely with the senior leadership team.

The Challenge

Work with the senior executives across this core division to ensure the business receives a clear and transparent view of performance whilst providing the operations ELT with decision support services to enable superior commercial decisions:

Specifically, you will be involved in delivering the following: 

• Identifying, valuing and recommending strategic opportunities to improve financial results
• Provide strategic insight, influence and consultation through a deep understanding of portfolio key drivers of value and ability to see and articulate opportunity costs / risk
• Play a leading role in driving transformation initiatives
• Management of the budgeting and forecasting process
• Business case preparation for new initiatives
• Co-ordinate, manage, deliver and present the business plan including strategic initiative overlays
• Production of P&L reporting and working with ELT and Heads of to lead and influence integrated and cross functional monthly decision-making forums
• Review month end management expense reporting and provide meaningful analysis and commentary on results / plans / forecasts highlighting drivers of performance, opportunities, risks and implications for the outlook period

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• Strong commercial, business partnering acumen that has most likely been developed in a leading company, ideally ASX listed
• Ideally, you have worked in a consumer focused sector supporting product and or sales, merchandise and marketing functions
• Possibly, you began your career in a Big 4 Chartered accounting firm
• First movers from Big4 TS/Corporate Finance/Valuations/Strategy teams will also be considered
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills to partner and influence key non-finance executives within the business unit
