The Opportunity
  
This is a brilliant opportunity for a high-performing Finance Manager to join one of Australia’s pre-eminent investment managers, Skip Capital.

This newly created role is ideal for a dynamic finance leader eager to help shape the continued growth of Skip Capital. The role will be challenging and exciting as you are overseeing the routine of the finance function while also being directly involved in process improvement, business partnering and commercial support.
  
The Role
  
This role offers broad exposure across financial and management reporting, tax, treasury, FP&A, and investment operations – ideal for a technically strong accountant seeking to build their career in a pivotal leadership role within the investment management space.
  
Reporting into a highly regarded Group Head of Finance & Operations, core responsibilities will include:

• Oversee all accounting functions across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial information.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning to support strategic and investment decision-making.
• Monitor portfolio performance and valuations, integrating investment data into group reporting.
• Prepare and present management accounts and consolidated reports that provide clear insight into performance and key metrics.
• Manage external advisors and ensure timely completion of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory obligations.
• Forecast liquidity needs, oversee funding and cash positions, and optimise utilisation across entities.
• Enhance financial systems, reporting, and internal controls to drive efficiency and safeguard assets.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The Expertise
  
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CA/CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting foundation
• A background in funds management, private equity/venture capital, family offices or adjacent sectors will be highly regarded
• Deep knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax legislation, and statutory reporting requirements
• Advanced proficiency with Xero (or similar ERP), strong Excel and financial modelling skills, and ideally, exposure to investment or business intelligence reporting tools
• Experience in driving process improvements and building robust financial governance
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across finance and operations
• Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
