The Opportunity

Join a newly established finance function where you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact from day one. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role offers broad exposure across transactional finance, process improvement and stakeholder engagement, with a clear pathway towards Finance Business Partnering.

You’ll join a small, collaborative team with ownership across key finance processes, initially focusing on accounts receivable invoicing, revenue reconciliations and cash allocations. This role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years’ transactional finance experience (or a relevant Accounting/Finance degree), strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset, looking to broaden their commercial exposure and develop their business partnering capability.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Finance Manager your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage high-value AR processes including invoicing, revenue reconciliations and cash allocations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
• Support AP processes including purchase order matching 
• Assist with weekly reporting, month-end activities and general finance administration
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve finance queries and improve processes
• Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide payroll administration support, including timesheet and attendance reporting

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• 1-3 years’ experience within a finance officer, assistant accountant or transactional finance role
• Strong understanding of debits and credits, reconciliations and core accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyse large data sets
• A proactive mindset with the confidence to identify process improvements and take ownership
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with operational stakeholders
• A desire to broaden your commercial finance exposure and develop towards business partnering
• Full Australian working rights 
• Ability to work onsite from the Melbourne inner West office
