The Opportunity

A growing, private equity backed infrastructure and supply chain business is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. Operating across Australia and New Zealand, the business plays a critical role in supporting large-scale supply chains for leading supermarkets.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this is a broad role combining financial reporting and cost accounting. You will support multiple Australian and New Zealand operations, gaining exposure to month-end reporting, financial control, cost analysis and operational business partnering.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to build on their technical foundation while developing broader commercial and operational finance capability.

The Challenge

As Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering month-end and year-end reporting across ANZ, including journals, reconciliations and balance sheet controls
• Driving cost analysis and partnering with operational stakeholders to understand performance and variances
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance reviews
• Providing technical accounting support across revenue, working capital, leases, fixed assets and intercompany transactions
• Assisting with tax, compliance and audit requirements (BAS, FBT, year-end)
• Supporting process improvements, controls uplift and ad-hoc finance projects

The Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification, or currently working towards completion
• 3+ years experience within Business Services, Audit or a financial accounting role with manufacturing, logistics, FMCG or other aligned industries
• Strong grounding in financial accounting, including month-end, journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Strong analytical capability with an interest in understanding operational and commercial drivers
• Confidence working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems; SAP experience would be advantageous
• A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and an interest in developing broader commercial finance capability
• Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship required
