The Opportunity
Our client is a leading Australian company with an impressive track record of hiring outstanding quality finance professionals offering a unique culture promoting diversity and work life balance.

There is currently an opportunity for a forward-minded Financial Accountant to join the group reporting team on a permanent basis as the business drives the implementation of a number of key project initiatives and support a diverse and cohesive team with compliance reporting deadlines as we head into the new year. 

The business is complex and large in size, and this is a broad position encompassing accounting policy & procedures, statutory reporting as well as supporting the Group on technical accounting matters.

The Challenge
Reporting to the Head of Technical Accounting and Advisory, some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing journals to ensure accurate financial accounting;
• Preparing financial reconciliations ensuring they are completed and reconciled;
• Supporting the Finance team with their calculations of complex accounting treatments, delivering ongoing advice and review of judgements;
• Preparing quarterly revenue calculations;
• Reviewing journals for revenue to ensure accurate financial reporting; 
• Supporting the preparation of group consolidated financial statements;
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective application across the business through engagement of key stakeholders;
• Contribute to producing high-quality reports and analysis on financial accounting matters to the Risk and Audit Committee;
• Supporting the wider team with a systems implementation project where required.

The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CA/CPA qualification with experience working in a Chartered firm (Big 4 or mid-tier)
• You could be an experienced Senior Accountant or Analyst in practice or an existing Group or Technical Accountant looking to gain experience in a large complex environment
• Ideally you have worked in advisory, assurance or a technical accounting team, or had experience writing technical accounting papers
• Strong knowledge of IFRS / AASB standards
• Highly collaborative, personable style
• Ability to manage a diverse set of responsibilities, within a highly collaborative team environment
