• Ideally suited to a working holiday visa candidate who can start immediately

The Opportunity

Our client is a recognisable, growing and profitable Australian retailer. Over recent years, they have experienced considerable growth and as such, an opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join their team during a busy period.

The role will initially be a 3 month contract with the likelihood of extending out to 6 months. 

The Challenge

Reporting into the Finance Manager and working with a number of stakeholders internally, the role will include but not limited to:

Specifically your responsibilities will include: 

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts including Group consolidation
• Assist with the month-end process with a focus on Head Office departments and labour costs.
• Preparation of management reporting and analysis of Head Office costs, including identifying and explaining causes of variances to budget.
• Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation of material reconciling items
• To work as part of the Financial Accounting team to assist with preparation of monthly board reporting and annual financial reports
• Assist Financial Reporting Manager in being key contact for co-ordination of the audit process, including responding to queries as and when they arise.

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• At least 3 years’ experience in the finance team of a large, listed Group and or experience in Audit/Business services, ideally with exposure to large, complex companies
• Good foundational understanding of financial accounting processes
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on quality work
