The Opportunity 

Our client is a well-established ASX financial services group. This is an exciting Financial Accountant opportunity that is suited to an up-and-coming accountant who has recently completed their CA and is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, evolving environment. The role offers exposure to a range of financial and reporting activities, providing the opportunity to develop practical skills and grow within the business.

The Challenge 

Working alongside the Senior Accountant and reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will involve but not be limited to:

• Prepare bank reconciliations including clearing of reconciling items in a timely manner
• Assist in the preparation, analysis and maintenance of monthly management reports including preparation and posting of journals, cashflow statements and completion of month end processes and procedures
• Prepare intercompany fee calculations, raise associated intercompany invoices and coordinate intercompany invoices settlement
• Assist with the preparation of monthly Payroll Tax and BAS Returns
• Assist with external audit process, including information gathering and liaising with audit team to resolve issues as they arise
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to finance and operations teams
• Contribute to process improvements to streamline workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders across finance and operations to ensure compliance and accuracy 

The Expertise 

• CA qualified, or soon to be, with 2-4 years’ experience in financial or professional services 
• Good foundational understanding of financial accounting processes
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on quality work
• Curious attitude and commitment to learning
• Solid Excel and financial systems skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business
