The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity presents to join a growing property group who have a leading position and reputation within the retirement living industry.
This will be a broad Financial Controller role encompassing financial reporting, controls and compliance, technical accounting as well as budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
The role would suit a Senior Manager or Director currently working in a Big 4 accounting firm seeking an exciting and fulfilling first move into industry. Alternately, an experienced Finance Manager, Group Reporting Manager or Financial Controller from a leading property, real estate, or developments business would also be strongly considered.
The role will work closely with the Deputy CFO and other senior executives across the organisation.
The Challenge
As the Financial Controller your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, operational cash flow management, and risk management
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of special purpose financial statements, reports, and disclosures in accordance with accounting
principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. - Responsible for compliance with audit, tax and other regulations
- Provide leadership and direction to the finance team
- Preparation and/or review of technical accounting papers on technical accounting areas and significant transactions
- Drive and enhance organisational efficiency through proactive continuous improvements and innovation
- Perform and review tax related transactions
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA / CPA qualified with relevant financial leadership experience
- Ideally Big4 or Mid tier-chartered accounting experience, current or prior to your successful transition into industry
- Superior financial reporting and technical accounting experience
- Experience in the development of internal controls and financial policies
- Knowledge of property, real estate, construction of developments industries
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
