The Opportunity

A unique opportunity to join a dynamic high growth PE portfolio company,  overseeing the routine of the financial reporting and control function as the 2IC to an excellent CFO.

The company has a track record of growth and have successfully expanded to all the major states in Australia, growing both organically and through the successful execution of M&A activity. They are well positioned for further expansion in the immediate term. The executive management team is very strong, the board is cohesive and the private equity group is highly regarded.  

The Challenge

This is an ideal role for an outstanding Finance Manager who is looking to step up into a Financial Controller position or a proven Financial Controller looking for a new and exciting challenge.
  
Partnering with the CFO, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the monthly financial close & statutory reporting obligations whilst maintaining and establishing appropriate financial control and risk management safeguards
• Manage the annual audit process with external auditors
• Monitor ongoing risk and compliance issues including tax, treasury, accounting standards, budgeting, and strategic planning
• Manage the statutory taxation obligations across Australia & New Zealand, including income tax filings, GST/BAS filings, FBT and other compliance matters
• Ensure an appropriate internal control framework supported by relevant financial and risk management policies
• Oversee and manage cash flow and treasury, partnering closely with the CFO and ELT on financing strategies to meet key business objectives
• Oversee the accounting operations for the business including accounting, AP, AR, and payroll staff

The Expertise

It is a given that you will be an experienced accounting professional who is ready and eager to take on a broad Financial Controller position. To be successful in this role it’s likely that you are either: 

• An experienced finance executive that is currently working as the FC or FM within a Private Equity backed, high growth company.
• A proven finance leader working within a parallel industry such as consumer goods, FMCG, wholesale, or retail. This will be advantageous but not essential.
• CA qualified, who began your career with KPMG, EY, Deloitte, PwC or a leading Mid-Tier accounting firm before progressing into financial reporting roles in a leading high growth company.
