The Opportunity
An outstanding short-term opportunity as arisen for a data expert to support the commercial function in building insightful financial models from the ground up and ultimately drive strategic decision-making.

The business is a highly visible and modern brand well-loved by many. Since commencing its footprint in Australia two decades ago, it has steadily gained market share locally and this is an exciting time to support the commercial team in providing greater commercial insights to support their sales strategy moving forward. 

You will provide strong financial modelling support to the commercial team with the focus on identifying key drivers of the business, building accurate forecasting and what-if scenario models, and creating decision-support tools that enable the ELT in making excellent decisions that will contribute to topline profitability and growth

The Challenge
Key duties can be summarised as the following: 

• Strategic Financial Modelling by building sophisticated financial models that support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
• Building what-if scenario analytical tools that allow the business to model prospective outcomes based on changing assumptions 
• Quantifying key business drivers impacting sales margin, productivity and profitability and modelling by segment
• Developing trade planning frameworks to measure ROI
• Creating excel-based tools to enabling operational stakeholders to conduct their own scenario modelling

The Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
• CA/ CPA Qualified
• 3+ years’ experience within a Big 4 or Mid-Tier environment across Audit/Advisory, or similar experience combined with an industry analytical and/or financial modelling role
• Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
• Confident communication and the ability to engage effectively with non-finance stakeholders
• A proactive and curious mindset, with the ability to adapt within a changing environment
