The Opportunity
An incredible opportunity to join a high-end design and retail brand pushing the boundaries of contemporary Australian aesthetic. You may be someone with 1-2 years’ professional accounting experience or a recent university graduate in Accounting or Finance looking for your first full-time role.
With a supportive, tight-knit team culture and a strong emphasis on professional growth, this business is seeking a high performing Accounting graduate to join their dynamic finance function. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship from industry leaders, and a broad introduction to financial accounting in a high-growth environment.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include:
- Process and reconcile bank transactions
- Upload and record customer deposits
- Upload and record of online sales
- Reconcile daily retail banking transactions (cash and eftpos) and communicate variances
- Post and reconcile credit card transactions
- Data entry of supplier’s invoices, AP reconciliation and communication to all external vendors
- Manager customer returns and faulty credits
- Review AR/AP statements at end of month
- Support payroll preparation
- Assist with month end process of GL posting journals
- Adhoc support of the finance department where required
- Assist with IT transformation projects
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- A recent graduate with a degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field
- 6-18 months experience with financial reporting (internships included) will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to contribute to a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- It is preferable that you have prior interest or knowledge of Retail or FMCG
