The Opportunity
An incredible opportunity to join a high-end design and retail brand pushing the boundaries of contemporary Australian aesthetic. You may be someone with 1-2 years’ professional accounting experience or a recent university graduate in Accounting or Finance looking for your first full-time role.
With a supportive, tight-knit team culture and a strong emphasis on professional growth, this business is seeking a high performing Accounting graduate to join their dynamic finance function. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship from industry leaders, and a broad introduction to financial accounting in a high-growth environment.
The Challenge
Reporting to the CFO, your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function using a newly implemented automated invoice processing system
- Review and improve AP workflows to maximise automation and ensure accurate GL coding
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve invoice queries
- Allocate customer deposits and manage the Accounts Receivable function
- Monitor outstanding receivables and resolve customer payment and sales order queries
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and reconcile merchant facilities and payment gateways
- Investigate and resolve cash and banking discrepancies
- Assist with cashflow reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support the month-end close process
- Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting requirements
- Support the fortnightly payroll process, including payroll data preparation and validation
- Assist with finance systems automation, AI initiatives, system testing and implementation projects
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline finance operations and reduce manual processes
- Provide ad hoc support to the finance team as required
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- A recent graduate with a degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field
- 6-18 months experience with financial reporting (internships included) will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to contribute to a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- It is preferable that you have prior interest or knowledge of Retail or FMCG
