The Opportunity
A unique opportunity to join a growing technology led wagering business as Head of Finance and take ownership of the finance function at an important stage of the Company’s growth. A highly influential finance leadership position where financial governance, regulatory compliance and commercial performance are all critical to the next phase of growth.
The Challenge
Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key advisor to the CEO, Board and Executive Team, providing the financial insight, discipline and governance required to support continued growth in a highly regulated environment.
This is a broad leadership role responsible for delivering a strong financial control environment and leading a function that operates as a strategic business partner whilst maintaining the discipline required in a regulated environment. Specifically this will include:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long range planning and financial performance
- Own and strengthen the Group’s financial control and governance framework
- Lead regulatory financial reporting, returns and assurance obligations
- Partner with auditors, regulators and external advisors across audits, reviews and compliance requirements
- Provide the CEO, Board and Executive Team with clear, timely and decision useful financial insight
- Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting, automation and data integrity
- Provide financial leadership across strategic initiatives, technology investment, market expansion and potential M&A
- Oversee statutory reporting, tax, treasury, cash flow and liquidity
- Lead and develop a high performing Finance team
The Expertise
- CA/CPA qualified finance leader with significant experience operating in a complex and highly regulated environment
- Strong technical accounting, financial control and management reporting capability, ideally developed within Big 4 or a leading mid tier accounting firm
- Demonstrated experience strengthening financial control and governance frameworks
- Experience dealing with external auditors, regulators or government authorities
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience in a technology led, high growth environment will be advantageous
- Strong financial modelling and strategic planning capability
- The maturity, judgement and interpersonal skills to operate effectively with the CEO, Board and Executive Team
- Previous M&A/transactions experience will be looked upon favourably
