The Opportunity

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll leader to join one of Australia’s top companies, renowned for its strong market presence and rapid expansion. As a highly profitable and dynamic tech company, they are committed to continued international growth.

In this position, you’ll lead and oversee a payroll team, managing the entire payroll process from onboarding through to terminations, including month-end responsibilities, compliance, and reporting. This is a unique chance to drive payroll operations with a leading ASX-listed company, ensuring smooth and efficient processes that support the organisation’s local objectives.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you will be responsible for the timely fortnightly and monthly payroll process for more than 1,600 staff. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment and your duties will include the following:

  • Team management of 3-4 – support, training and development
  • The seamless delivery of compliant and accurate fortnightly & monthly payrolls
  • Completing legislative requirements including PAYG, Payroll Tax Superannuation and WorkCover
  • Working alongside the P&C, Finance, management and staff regarding all payroll related matters
  • Calculating and maintaining leave balances
  • Interpreting and applying awards and contracts
  • Preparing detailed payroll records, reports and documents for Finance and Operations
  • Assisting with end of month, end of year processes

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

  • 10+ years end to end payroll experience
  • Proven experience managing a small to medium sized payroll team
  • Exposure to high volume / fast paced Payroll environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with larger ERP/Payroll systems
  • Should you be available to start work without a notice it will be viewed as advantageous
