Payroll Officer | circa $100,000 package

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented payroll professional to join a rapidly growing ASX listed business in Melbourne’s CBD.

You’ll take ownership of end-to-end monthly payroll for 100+ employees across multiple entities, while playing a key role in streamlining processes, resolving system issues, and managing both internally and externally handled payroll tasks.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Financial Controller your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Processing end-to-end monthly payrolls for 100+ staff
  • Ensuring accuracy of payroll calculations, including overtime, leave entitlements, and payroll tax
  • Maintaining and updating employee records, including salaries, deductions, entitlements, and benefits
  • Reconciling and submitting superannuation payments
  • Preparing monthly and annual reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts
  • Creating and maintaining payroll procedure documentation
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and taxation requirements, including payroll tax
  • Experience with multi-entity payroll processing and working with external providers
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data processing
  • Ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to streamline and improve payroll processes
