The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join a large privately owned property group making a major impact in its sector. You will lead and mentor a small but high-performing team, contributing to the growth of the business while further developing your leadership and commercial skills.
The Challenge
This role requires someone who has developed leadership skills and worked within a corporate environment. Specifically your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Group Finance Manager to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial results and analysis across multiple entities, including joint ventures.
- Preparing financial and management reports, providing clear commentary on monthly results, and performing month-end and other reporting tasks.
- Maintaining strong financial governance, ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
- Leading, developing, and supporting direct reports, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Communicating financial information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across the finance function.
The Expertise
This position will suit a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager with a strong understanding of accounting principles and leadership skills. Furthermore, please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- You are CA/CPA qualified
- 5 – 6 years experience with time spent in a chartered or business services environment
- This would ideally be your second move post your time in professional services firms such as PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Pitcher Partners, BDO, Findex, Grant Thornton, RSM, HLB Mann Judd, or similar
- A sound knowledge of accounting concepts, financial reporting, management reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a high attention to detail
- A demonstrated ability to build and maintain rapport with employees, stakeholders and business partners
