The Opportunity

A global consumer business experiencing strong growth is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with senior stakeholders, this position will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial reporting, compliance and governance obligations.

The role offers a unique blend of responsibilities across financial accounting and tax, providing exposure to statutory reporting, month-end processes, tax compliance and broader finance initiatives. You will also contribute to ongoing process improvement projects and support the continued development of the finance function as the business grows.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to transition from professional services into a commercial environment, while broadening their experience across a wider finance remit.

The Challenge

As Senior Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting month-end reporting processes including journals, reconciliations, variance analysis and balance sheet reviews
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting requirements
• Preparing, reviewing and lodging tax compliance, in conjunction with external advisors, to ensure compliance with Australian obligations, 
• Managing GST, BAS, FBT and other indirect tax reporting requirements
• Supporting sustainability and other emerging regulatory reporting requirements
• Partnering with stakeholders across finance and operational teams to provide financial insights and guidance

The Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

• CA or CPA qualification
• 4+ years’ experience within Business Services, Tax, Business Advisory or a similar environment, ideally gained within a Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firm
• Strong technical accounting and compliance capability, with exposure to financial reporting and taxation matters
• Understanding of month-end reporting, statutory reporting and financial accounting principles
• Exposure to Australian tax obligations including corporate tax, GST and FBT
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with a desire to broaden your experience beyond professional services
