Standalone Payroll Officer | circa $110,000 package

  • Growing manufacturer in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs 
  • End-to-end weekly payroll processing | Support with accounts payable and administrative duties 
  • 5 days onsite with flexible start and finish times | Thorough handover will be provided  

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a full-time Payroll Officer to join a growing manufacturing business as they bring their accounting function in-house. Working within a finance team of five, you’ll manage end-to-end weekly payroll for circa 150 staff while also supporting with accounts payable duties and general administrative tasks. 

The role is based onsite with flexible start and finish times. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for stability in a dynamic, hands-on role within a supportive team environment.

The Challenge


Reporting to the CFO your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Processing payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
  • Ensuring business compliance with all legislative requirements such as ATO reporting, minimum wage rates and superannuation
  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date
  • Handling payroll queries from employees 
  • Assisting with month end payroll reconciliations
  • Processing and managing contractor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment
  • Reconciling vendor accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Supporting with Workcover claims and administrative tasks as required 

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

  • 4+ years of experience in payroll processing and ideally accounts payable
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including interpreting payslips, application of awards and management of leave balances and leave loading 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll and financial transactions
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle queries effectively
