The Opportunity

Perfect opportunity for a dynamic, part or fully accountant to grow their career in the sports/events space. Our client is a market leader in their field and due to acquisition and organic growth have created a new role in the team to be based in Melbourne. 

The Challenge

Reporting into the CFO, your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Management Accountant with event forecasting and reporting
• Month end processes including recognition, cost tracking and reconciliations
• Review results to understand variances between actuals and targets, working with the operational finance team to report on key metrics.
• Provide assistance to the Head of Finance on a range of issues from accounting advice to financial systems support
• Monthly cashflow reporting and planning.
• Assist with yearly audits.
• Overseeing the accounts payable function and credit
  card expenses via Concur; proactively following up on overdue accounts receivable

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in accounting
• You are CA/CPA qualified or on track to complete in the next 1-2 years. Ideally you started your career in a reputable chartered firm or have worked your way up in industry from accounts into a broad accounting role . 
• You have strong excel skills and amition to learn and grow your skills. 
• Strong conceptual understanding and analytical ability 
• Organised with the ability to prioritise, identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal
