The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded, Melbourne-based company in the utilities sector. They have a strong team culture and a track record of internal promotions. They have an opening for a Financial Accountant to join a large finance function. Committed to innovation and sustainability, they are also well-known for their contributions to the environment and meaningful projects in the community.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working closely with Senior Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include: 

• Undertake financial accounting month end activities 
• Participate in finance projects 
• Update accounting policies and procedures as required.
• Assist with preparing accounting papers to support accounting treatment/s.
• Prepare quarterly tax effect workings for smaller subsidiaries.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Assist in the delivery of process improvement projects.

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CPA/CA qualification 
• You are currently in a Group or Technical accounting position in a large complex business looking to make  a career move 
• Strong foundational knowledge of IFRS
• Experience writing technical accounting memos 
• Highly collaborative, personable style
• Ability to manage a diverse set of responsibilities within a highly collaborative team environment
