The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business in the sports industry, perfect for a junior, up-and-coming accountant looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll work closely under a high calibre Finance Manager, gaining hands-on experience and the chance to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment. The role is responsible for month-end and year-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis, offering a broad view of the business and excellent career growth potential.
The Challenge
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support month-end and year-end reporting by preparing journals, performing reconciliations, and delivering detailed financial analysis.
- Prepare P&L statements and revenue/cost analysis for key business activities, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient financial operations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial audits, contributing to robust planning and compliance processes.
- Drive improvements in financial systems and processes through automation initiatives and ongoing efficiency projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial information that supports business performance and strategic goals.
The Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Junior Accountant position
- Enrolment in or current study towards CA/CPA
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- A proactive approach and enthusiasm to learn and grow within a fast-paced business
