The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth construction and manufacturing business in its exciting start-up phase. Based in Derrimut and reporting to the Financial Controller, this broad role will support key finance operations across AP, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and month-end processes. You’ll play a critical role in establishing and improving systems and processes as the business continues to scale. The role offers 2 days WFH and the chance to work in a close-knit, collaborative team.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and weekly payment runs
• Provide support for the fortnightly payroll process including timesheet checks and processing
• Prepare and lodge statutory returns – BAS, payroll tax and WorkCover
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close including accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support job-level P&L analysis and assist with cash flow reporting
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and financial queries across the business

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• 2-3+ years’ experience in a Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant role
• Background in construction, manufacturing or start-up environments desirable
• Working knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting software
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Proactive, hands-on attitude and a willingness to support across a dynamic, growing business
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
