The Opportunity

A growing, private equity-backed Australian business is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its high-performing finance team. Operating across a complex, multi-site environment, the business has continued to expand significantly.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this role will focus on improving management reporting, analysing pricing and margin performance, and providing meaningful commercial insights to finance and operational stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded finance professional looking to broaden their commercial exposure and make a visible impact within a growing organisation.

The Challenge

Your responsibilities will include:

• Enhancing management reporting and dashboards to provide greater visibility of business performance
• Analysing pricing, margins, customer activity and operating costs to identify trends and opportunities
• Reviewing freight performance and supporting initiatives to improve cost recovery
• Developing financial models and analytical tools to support commercial decisions
• Translating financial and operational data into clear insights for senior stakeholders
• Supporting regular business reporting and working closely with the broader finance team
• Contributing to commercial projects, including pricing reviews, profitability analysis and cost improvement initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency and consistency of reporting

The Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification, or progressing towards completion
• Experience in commercial finance, management accounting, FP&A or a similarly analytical role
• Strong systems experience, with SAP highly regarded
• Exposure to product-based, retail, wholesale, distribution or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
• The ability to interpret complex data and communicate meaningful commercial insights
• Confidence engaging with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• A proactive and improvement-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
