The Opportunity

A well-known FMCG business is seeking an ambitious commercial analyst to join their team. This opportunity works directly with the Head of Systems and Reporting to add value to the organisation. The individual will be responsible for providing key commercial and data insights through the use of SQL and Power BI. This role is suited to a young, up-and-coming analyst who is motivated to advance and grow their career in a high performing and supportive team. 

The Challenge

The Commercial Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting the sales and commercial teams. Working collaboratively across the business, the main purpose of this position is to support the Commercial Director and other senior stakeholders in providing and maintaining business information for enhanced sales and strategic projects.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include: 

• Retrieving business information and sales data, to convert this into business intelligence for the use of commercial and performance initiatives
• Partnering with Head of Sales to analyse past sales information and customer relationship data to highlight trends and opportunities on how the organisation can improve customer results and overall sales
• Providing high-quality statistical information to suit the data and audience
• Collating graphs, tables and reports that are accessible and easy to interpret by the wider business

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• The ideal candidate will understand accounting and have a background in finance before transitioning to a BI/ Data position
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or data analytics
• Exposure to SQL, Python and Power BI
• 3-4 years of experience in a similar analytical role
• Ability to combine an analytical mindset and commercial acumen to share key data with non-data like stakeholders
