The Opportunity
A global retail group experiencing strong growth is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join their high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager & working closely with the CFO, this role offers exposure to a broad range of tax and financial reporting responsibilities, while also contributing to ongoing finance and system improvement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional looking to develop their commercial and technical accounting skillset in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Challenge
As Corporate Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly reporting packs, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reporting alongside senior finance staff
- Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements and managing audit workpapers and audit queries
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to support P&L analysis, sales reporting and cash flow management
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting in collaboration with senior staff and tax consultants
- Supporting lodgement processes and liaising with the ATO and ASIC on tax-related matters
- Assisting the Finance Manager and CFO on key projects to streamline processes, enhance systems and improve financial controls
The Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying)
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, or in business advisory or audit within a Big 4 or Mid-Tier environment
- Strong understanding of financial reporting & IFRS. Exposure to tax would also be favourable
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across local and offshore teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- SAP experience and/or retail sector exposure is desirable, but not essential
