The Opportunity

This newly created role will work closely with a strong CFO in running the commercial finance function for the group. 

A tech business operating in a high-growth sector, the business is backed by a leading PE group in Australia. The business has grown significantly over the last 3 years with a clear mandate for continued growth, both organically and through M&A. 

The role will be pivotal for the business – FP&A, business case preparation, data, data and insights, strategy, M&A, team leadership and board level presentations are all core responsibilities of the role.

The Challenge

This is an ideal role for an individual with strong FP&A and commercial finance experience:  
  
Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the CFO and leadership team through the provision of insights & analytics enabling them to develop and execute strategic plans
• Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, developing models to accurately forecast performance and providing monthly budgets driving accountability across business units
• Providing financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions, including market expansion, and investments
• Conducting commercial reviews and financial analysis of key business opportunities and strategic projects
• Analysing business performance data, identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction and recommend process improvements to enhance outcomes
• Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics
• Producing monthly board reports, management accounts, and other financial reports for senior leadership

The Expertise

It is a given that you will be an experienced commercial finance executive. To be successful in this role it’s likely that you:

• Are CA qualified and began your career with KPMG, EY, Deloitte, PwC or a leading Mid-Tier accounting firm before progressing your career in commercial finance roles
• Have SaaS/scale-up tech industry experience 
• Ideally have a mixture of large company experience as well as exposure to smaller high-growth companies where it is a given you have been hands-on and in the detail
• Ideally have a broader financial control skill-set which will allow you to be a clear 2IC to the CFO by providing broader support
• A dynamic approach, that thrives in a fast-paced environment
