The Opportunity
Join a global creative studio as their Finance & Administration Manager. This is a hands-on, end-to-end accounting role offering broad learning opportunities and the chance to work alongside a supportive and collaborative team. It is perfect for someone looking to make their first move into industry out of public practice where you will work to influence financial performance, operational efficiency, and project delivery. Working closely with creative professionals and the broader international finance team, providing insight and guidance that shapes decisions across the business. Full time or part time 0.8 FTE option on offer.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of financial reporting, including P&L, project revenue recognition, cash flow, forecasting, and statutory/non-financial reports.
- Oversight of accounting processes in collaboration with an external accounting provider.
- Managing invoicing, accruals, AP/AR, and payroll coordination (superannuation and leave).
- Leading the year-end audit process and liaising with local auditors.
- Driving the annual budgeting process with the Managing Director.
- Acting as project controller, monitoring project performance and providing financial input to proposals and client negotiations.
- Supplier due diligence and oversight of internal procurement and office purchasing.
- Annual CO₂ reporting for Australian operations.
- Supporting certification and compliance processes and ensuring adherence to global and local policies.
- Office administration and HR support
- One direct report – Office Assistant
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting ideally working towards professional qualification
- 4–8 years’ experience in accounting, financial reporting, business or project controlling, or similar roles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with Xero is advantageous.
- Exposure to project-based operations is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and able to perform well in a busy, dynamic environment.
- System savvy.
- Note: There will be a thorough hand over and ideal start date would be in February 2026
