The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, PE backed manufacturing organisation operating nationally and across New Zealand. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role plays a critical part in supporting financial performance, providing commercial insight and enabling informed strategic decision-making across the organisation.
As Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across manufacturing, operations and sales, translating complex financial data into practical insights that influence outcomes. The role offers exposure to commercial decision-making, business cases, contracts and strategic initiatives, making it well suited to a commercially minded finance professional seeking genuine impact and progression.
The Challenge
Reporting to the CFO, this role will encompass a broad and hands-on remit, including:
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes, delivering high-quality analysis and commentary
- Producing timely and insightful monthly reporting, variance analysis and KPI tracking for senior leadership
- Developing robust financial models and business cases to support investment decisions, tenders and strategic initiatives
- Partnering with operational, sales and service leaders to identify performance drivers, risks and improvement opportunities
- Providing commercial input into pricing, margin analysis, procurement decisions and contract reviews
- Contributing to Board-level reporting, external stakeholder reporting and audit processes
- Driving continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting frameworks and data quality
The Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Proven experience in finance business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance within manufacturing, industrial, engineering or similarly complex operational environments
- Strong financial modelling, analysis and business case development capability
- Confidence partnering with senior operational and executive stakeholders
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with the ability to manage ambiguity
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insight
- A collaborative and professional style aligned to a values-driven culture
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
