The Opportunity
Opportunity to join an ASX-listed organisation headquartered in Melbourne during an exciting phase of growth and corporatisation. With a renewed strategic focus and significant investment in strengthening its operational and financial foundations, this is an excellent opportunity for a tier one first mover at manager level, or a second mover who is currently in a senior reporting position. The business is evolving rapidly — enhancing systems, structures, and governance to support its expanding national footprint.
The Finance Manager will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of the general ledger. This role will partner across the business to drive budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and cost control.
The Challenge
Reporting into the Head of Finance and partnering with the wider ELT, your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Lead financial reporting and compliance, ensuring robust financial control and adherence to accounting standards.
- Oversee month-end close processes, prepare detailed variance analysis, and produce comprehensive Board packs to support strategic decision-making.
- Deliver accurate and timely internal management reporting that provides actionable insights for business performance.
- Ensure all account balances are reconciled monthly, investigating and resolving variances promptly to maintain financial integrity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies, facilitating smooth audits and compliance processes.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes, supporting both short-term operational and long-term strategic planning.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, translating complex data into clear recommendations to guide business decisions.
- Develop and implement innovative financial strategies that align with and support the organisation’s broader objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
The Expertise

- CA qualified – career beginnings in Big 4 or a leading mid-tier accounting firm, building a solid grounding in financial reporting and controls.
- Proven leadership experience managing staff in a financial reporting environment.
- Experience with listed entities or ASX reporting will be highly regarded.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
