The Opportunity
This growing pharmaceutical business focuses on manufacturing R&D and distribution. With a strong presence in Australia, the business is expanding its in-house financial capabilities to support its growing portfolio. They seek a Finance Manager to establish and enhance financial operations for an exciting new venture. This hands-on role involves compliance, reporting, and collaboration with external accountants and internal teams. It suits a commercially minded Finance Manager or Senior Accountant who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building financial structures, and is comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
The Challenge
Reporting to a financially astute CEO, your role will include the following key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for efficiency and compliance.
- Board reporting
- Establish financial reporting frameworks for internal and external use.
- Create and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and liquidity
- Oversee tax compliance and advisory for relevant entities, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of income tax, BAS, IAS, FBT, PAYG, GST, and payroll tax returns.
- Review and reconcile related party loans, ensuring proper documentation and proactive tax management.
- Monthly invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Payroll processing and statutory compliance
- Bank reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow statements
- Lead corporate secretarial management across the group.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, external tax agents, lawyers, and investee companies to ensure compliance.
- Manage risk and ensure compliance with industry standards.
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Over 4 years of relevant senior experience, ideally gained within a well-regarded SME.
- Preferred experience within a first or second-tier accounting firm, primarily in business services or private clients.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Strong team player with a hands-on approach and willingness to contribute across all aspects of the role.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
