The Opportunity
This is a brilliant opportunity for a finance executive to join one of Australia’s fastest growing renewables businesses. The role will oversee a large high performing finance team, have direct exposure to the ELT and play a pivotal role in the continual growth of the business both domestically and internationally.
The GM Finance will be responsible for process improvement, being the ‘go-to’ support for commercial matters and supporting the CEO and ELT to drive the long term group strategy.
The Challenge
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Ensure implementation of accounting excellence across the group
- Plan, implement, manage, and run all financial activities including business planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- The production of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and management reports
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the group’s financial processes and governance including the ongoing development of reporting processes, monthly cadence, finance systems and materials for board
- Maintain appropriate internal financial control and risk management safeguards to support growth
- Collaborate with ELT to identify and assess risks associated with their areas of responsibility
- Work closely with ELT on project implementations such as acquisitions, group restructures, and software implementations
- Critically support the ELT in the formulation of the business’s strategy
- Driving process improvement initiatives and implementing financial control strategies to support business expansion plans
- Create, mentor and develop a team
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA/CPA qualified and ideally Big4 trained prior to your successful transition into industry
- You are a distinguished finance executive ideally within the infrastructure/energy markets/electricity retailing or funds management sectors
- Experience in controls implementations and business process improvements
- Corporate finance/project finance experience
- Treasury/hedging and experience dealing with banks
- Strategic planning, execution and financial modelling
- Experience in M&A and post deal integration
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Self-starter who can build relationships across the business
- Passionate with high achievement drive and a can-do attitude
- It is a given you will possess superior financial accounting and management reporting experience
- A natural leader, capable of building a high-performing team
