The Opportunity
Join a fast-growing consumer business as they continue to grow and develop. They have a proven operating model, strong consumer brand and clear strategic plan for future growth. Currently with revenues of $100m+, this is an exciting time to join the finance function and support the CFO leading the finance function.
As a senior leader within the finance team, you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and key operational stakeholders across the business. This role has overall accountability for the group’s consolidated financial results, financial planning & analysis and overseeing the day‑to‑day finance operations.
The Challenge
Commercial Support
- Support the CFO and executive team on business cases, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with financial evaluation of growth opportunities, including acquisitions and new initiatives.
- Oversee end‑to‑end head office finance operations, including GL, payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, credit cards, and banking.
Board and Management Reporting
- Lead preparation and coordination of the monthly Board reporting pack and commentary in partnership with the CFO.
- Enhance management reporting to improve clarity relevance and timeliness for executive stakeholders.
- Analyse monthly performance against budget and forecast, including variance analysis.
- Translate financial data into clear commercial insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Provide actionable insights on performance, risks, and opportunities across the business.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual group budgeting and forecasting process, including detailed financial modelling and consolidation.
- Partner with operational leaders to develop aligned, realistic budgets.
- Challenge assumptions and ensure alignment with strategic and commercial objectives.
Tax
- Preparation and lodgement of all tax compliance obligations including income tax returns FBT returns, BAS, payroll tax and associated workpapers and reconciliations.
- Prepare tax calculations supporting monthly and year‑end reporting.
- Liaise with external tax advisers on reviews, queries, and lodgements.
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA qualified most likely with a background at KPMG, EY, PwC or Deloitte, BDO, Pitcher Partners, Grant Thornton etc.
- Currently you will be a proven finance executive, possibly the second in charge to a CFO in a high growth company. Possibly you are in a larger enterprise sized company in group accounting and looking for a more dynamic and exciting role with influence in a high growth $100m+ business.
- You will have strong stakeholder management skills and enjoy engaging and challenging CFO’s, CEO’s and Board level executives.
