The Opportunity

Our client is a highly regarded investment management firm with a strong track record of delivering consistent returns and maintaining deep engagement with its investor base. Managing a substantial portfolio across listed and unlisted strategies, the firm is known for its disciplined investment philosophy and strong alignment with shareholders.

Due to continued growth, a newly created opportunity has arisen for a talented Financial Accountant to join a collaborative, high-calibre finance team. This role offers broad exposure across corporate and fund accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and investment operations – ideal for a technically strong accountant seeking to build their career within the investment management space.

The Role
Working closely with the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, board packs, and performance analysis across multiple entities
• Coordinating the preparation of statutory financial statements and managing external audits
• Ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance, including BAS, FBT, and income tax returns
• Reviewing fund-related transactions including NAVs, distributions, and capital flows in collaboration with external administrators
• Supporting investor and shareholder reporting, including periodic ASX disclosures
• Partnering with key stakeholders across the business and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in finance systems, processes, and controls

Your Background
You will be a driven and detail-oriented finance professional with:

• CA/CPA qualification and 3–5 years’ experience, ideally from a chartered accounting firm (Big 4 or mid-tier) or within financial services
• A strong grounding in financial accounting and tax compliance
• A sound understanding of investment fund structures – or a genuine passion to build expertise in this space – is essential
• Exceptional communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
• Experience with listed entities, ASX reporting or fund accounting will be highly regarded
• A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment
