- First in-house Finance hire | CBD
The Opportunity
This is a standout opportunity to join an ambitious, founder-led, VC-backed Australian SaaS business at a pivotal stage of its growth. As the business enters its next phase, Finance is being brought in-house for the first time. Working directly with the CEO as a close partner you will own everything finance, and lay the foundations for a finance function that can grow with the business.
One day you might be deep in cash flow or reconciling accounts; the next you might be building a financial forecast, supporting a key commercial decision or solving a tax problem.

The Challenge
Reporting to the CEO and co-founder, some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring timely, accurate preparation of monthly management reports and financial board reporting
- Overseeing tax and regulatory obligations (GST/VAT, payroll tax, corporate compliance, R&D tax returns etc) supported by external advisers
- Working side-by-side with the CEO to support decisions around growth, pricing, hiring, and investment
- Building and maintaining financial budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models
- Putting in place appropriate financial controls, processes, and reporting and improving data quality and visibility over time – rather than waiting for “perfect”
- As the company scales, helping shape what the next stage of finance looks like (including hiring and leadership opportunities)
