Financial Accountant

• Suited to a working holiday visa or resident who is immediately available
• Short Term contract, with possibility to be extended

The Opportunity

An excellent short-term opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well established business operating within a critical infrastructure and logistics environment.

This is a hands-on temporary role suited to a technically strong accountant who can quickly understand the business, take ownership of core accounting responsibilities and add value from day one. The role will support the finance team during a busy period and requires someone confident operating with autonomy.
  
The Challenge

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Owning balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations with a high level of independence
• Supporting month end close and ensuring accuracy of financial data
• Maintaining general ledger integrity and resolving discrepancies
• Assisting with reporting, analysis and ad hoc finance support as required
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations

The Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Financial Accounting role
• Strong Excel capability and confidence working with financial systems
• High attention to detail, accuracy and accountability
• Strong communication skills with the ability to operate across all levels of the business
• Ability to quickly learn business nuances and hit the ground running
• Experience within logistics, transport, supply chain or distribution environments will be highly regarded, but is not essential
