The Opportunity
Our client is a leading multinational company with an impressive track record of year-on year growth. We are seeing a Financial Accounting Lead to join their high-performing team. The business is complex and growing, and this is a broad position encompassing accounting policy & procedures, statutory reporting, transaction support and advising the Group on technical accounting matters.

The Challenge
Reporting to the Head of Technical Accounting and Advisory, some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the interpretation of existing and new accounting standards and identifying any financial accounting implications for the business;
• Establishing and managing Group accounting policies, procedures and strategies;
• Supporting the Finance team with their calculations of complex accounting treatments, delivering ongoing advice and review of judgements;
• Complex accounting including Leases, hedge accounting, tax effect accounting, acquisitions and share based payments;
• Ensuring consistency in accounting treatments for Australian and US entities under IFRS;
• Advising on accounting for new transactions;
• Planning and managing external reporting requirements, framework and calendar for Group entity reporting;
• Reviewing deliverables, such as investor presentation, CFO analysis pack, compliance and reporting and other internal / external reporting;
• Leading the resolution of complex audit queries;
• Mentoring & coaching members of the team;
• Ad-hoc project work

The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CA/CPA qualification with experience working in a Chartered firm (Big4 or top-tier)
• You could be a Senior Manager in practice or an existing Group or Technical accountant who is looking for a step up
• Ideally you have worked in advisory, assurance or a technical accounting team, or had experience writing technical accounting papers
• Strong knowledge of IFRS / AASB standards
• Highly collaborative, personable style
• Ability to manage a diverse set of responsibilities, within a highly collaborative team environment
