The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, up and coming Accountant wanting to expand their skills and gain exposure in a broad role, analysing the CAPEX spend and providing key budgets and forecast for assets and leases. This role will involve some BAU reporting, as well as providing more detailed analysis for the board and CFO. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful ASX organisation in the CBD.

Additionally, the wider finance function has exciting upcoming process and system improvements underway, so you will get exposure to heaps of learning opportunities. 

The Challenge

Supporting the Group Finance function, you will work closely with the Finance Manager and Group FC. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and maintain monthly reporting on capex, fixed assets and lease accounting.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for capex, fixed assets and leases.
• Review and approve business cases requesting the use of capital expenditure.
• Review and sign off on asset related balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide ad hoc reports and analysis for Senior Management. 
• Provide support and drive key process and system improvements that are upcoming in the team and wider finance function.

The Expertise

Please apply for the position if you have the following:  

• You are CA/CPA qualified 
• At least 3-5 years’ experience working in a large and complex business 
• Ideally you will have had previous exposure to CAPEX accounting as well as budgeting and forecasting
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on quality work
• Curious attitude and commitment to learning
• Process improvement mindset, and willingness to support the wider finance function in system upgrades.
