The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding global fitness & sporting group possessing unlimited growth potential.  Reporting to the CEO and a key member of the ELT, you will have end to end ownership of the finance function. A dominant industry player and part of a global listed group, this is a rare opportunity to join such a market leader within the fitness industry.

The Challenge

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• The production of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and management reports
• Preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flows and profitability projections whilst ensuring effective planning cycles are aligned with the board strategic directions
• Manage the statutory taxation obligations and oversee tax advisory services
• Establish and maintain appropriate internal financial controls and risk management safeguards
• Oversee and drive processes for streamlining and improving debtors control
• Managing the relationship with external auditors and leading the annual audit process including the audit plan, timeline, and information flow
• Revenue optimisation and cost reduction
• Maintain appropriate internal financial controls and risk management safeguards
• Supporting the executive team to improve the ongoing performance of the business and deliver various strategic projects and initiatives
• Effectively manage the groups capital requirements ensuring the group has adequate funds to meet its obligations
• Lead and deliver key finance and commercial projects including the establishment of data analytics and business insights capability
•  M&A initiatives including due diligence, new market entry analysis, financial modelling, businesses cases and recommendations

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• CA / CPA qualified with relevant financial leadership experience
• Ideally Big4 or second tier-chartered accounting experience prior to your successful transition into industry
• A hands on leader with 8-10 years proven experience driving financial performance across a team-oriented environment
• Superior financial accounting and management reporting experience
• Experience in the development and maintenance of internal controls and financial policies
• Proven franchisee/sports/fitness/retail/consumer or related sector experience will be looked upon favourably
• Ideally your industry experience has provided you with a corporate tax grounding
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Previous data analytics and superior business intelligence expertise will be looked upon favourably
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter who can build relationships across the business 
• Passionate with high achievement drive
• A ‘can-do’, flexible and fun attitude
