The Opportunity
This is a standout opportunity to join a dynamic, fast growing for-purpose organisation. They are one of the largest players in their space and generate their own income, so are interested in employing talented people with a background medium to large commercial businesses. Due to growth in recent years, they are amidst a transformation journey with an ERP upgrade and changes to their operating model in flight.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a key leadership role and will manage all financial reporting and transactional finance. Additionally, you’ll get involved in plenty of interesting projects around systems and scaling finance processes. Ideally, we’d like the role to commence in early to mid January after the break, in a contract capacity with a view to permanency thereafter.
The Challenge
Reporting to the CFO, you’ll play a key role in building a future-proof finance function. You’ll bring rigour to reporting, uplift processes, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Some of your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading the month-end close, general ledger and group reporting
- Preparing board-level financials
- Mentoring and developing a high performance finance team, including oversight of accounts payable, receivable and payroll; fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture
- Delivering all statutory reporting and liaising with external auditor
- Identifying opportunities to streamline systems and automate workflows
The Expertise
Please apply for this position if you possess the following:
- CA or CPA qualifications
- A foundation in Audit or Business Services, followed by experience as a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller in a medium to large business
- Demonstrated capability as a people leader, comfortable leading a large team (4 direct reports, 10+ indirect)
- Experience in change management
- An interest in joining a purpose-driven yet commercial environment
